The Log Cabin Wilderness Camp with
the Clem C. Glass Memorial Eagles Nest is situated at an elevation of
9,640 feet above sea level in the Inyo National Forest. This is the
base camp for the Los Angeles Area Council High Adventure Summer
Program. The camp is located 320 miles from Los Angeles on the eastern
slopes of the Sierra Nevada bordering the Hoover Wilderness and
Yosemite National Park. Log Cabin is your Gateway to the Sierras and
provides the ultimate in High Adventure through our High Country
Gateway and Sierra Nevada Mountain Man Programs.
Forest
Lawn Scout Reservation
Forest Lawn Scout Reservation is
located at an average elevation of 5,400 feet above sea level in
the San Bernardino National Forest just 3 miles east of Lake
Arrowhead.
Circle X Ranch at Big Horn is the
Boy Scout Resident Summer Camp offering: horseback riding,
archery, rifle and shotgun shooting, a pool with water slides, a
40 ft. climbing wall, a lake with canoeing, kayaking, and
rowboats, a Trail to First Class Program (Pathfinder), more than
45 merit badges, a C.O.P.E. course and a summer to remember for
a lifetime.
Camp Pepperdine is the Cub Scout
Resident Summer Camp offering: horseback riding, archery, BB-gun
shooting, a pool, Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos rank
advancement programs, and much more, including an introduction
to climbing for Webelos-2

Located on legendary Santa Catalina Island, it is a ferry ride across
the channel to a camp that dates to the 1920s. A picturesque cove with
sandy beach, swimming area and unusually clear water is situated at
the mouth of Cherry Valley.
Camp Cherry Valley offers opportunities for many water sports
including world-class snorkeling, SCUBA diving, canoeing, rowing,
sailing and swimming. Because it is located on the leeward side of the
island, the cove is calm making it a perfect place for lots of fun in
the water. Hikes over mountainous terrain, war canoe races, touring an
old silver mine, a sea lab with a touch tank so you can learn about
local marine life is available. Camping in comfortable platform tents
under a unique variety of cherry trees, a dining hall and more.
Reservations for Summer Camp are usually full two years in advance,
so get your reservations in early. There are additional programs
offered in spring and at the end of the summer for all levels in
Scouting and family camping.
Camp Trask
Camp Trask is a special place, tucked into Monrovia Canyon , only
minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city. A brief drive up a
meandering road camp and you are suddenly into a calming wilderness
setting. The silence in camp is broken only by the sound of the
year-round stream which flows through camp. There are no city lights,
so you can see the stars at night. There are lots of reasons to come
to Trask: The new dining hall, great swimming pool, Fort Rotary, and
outdoor amphitheater for campfire programs.
Camp Eaton
Available for Scout camps, church groups,
corporate getaways and conferences of most every kind, Camp Eaton is
waiting for you. Give your organization the opportunity to experience
the relaxation Camp Eaton has to offer. Drive north from La Canada up
the Angeles Crest Highway, and you are soon in the middle of the San
Gabriel Mountains at this remarkable retreat.
Stay overnight in a heated dormitory housing.
There is a contemporary conference center with open layout and large
meeting rooms. A dining hall has a huge fireplace, combining rustic
charm with all the creature comforts.
Camp Eaton offers a pool, shower
house, zip line ride and miles of hiking trails. A climbing wall is a
highlight of the sports activities. You'll find snow in the winter and
can count on the cool, clean, crisp mountain air with the wind rushing
through mature pine trees.
Long Beach Area Council Camps
Camp Tahquitz

Camp Tahquitz
is an easy drive of about 100 miles from Long Beach. The property sits
at the 6500-foot elevation among rolling meadows, cedars, firs, oaks
and some of the world's tallest Ponderosa Pines. The Camp Tahquitz
summer program has been operated by the Council for nearly 80 years,
serving Scouts from Troops throughout Southern California and as far
away as Nevada and Arizona. Camp Tahquitz offers one of the finest
traditional Scout camping experiences in the Western Region, always
receiving the highest ratings of the BSA National Camp Standards.
Troops have the options to utilize Jamboree-style feeding (units
prepare meals in their campsites with camp-provided food) or central
dining hall-style feeding. More summer camp information for Scouts and
adult leaders can be obtained by contacting Georgette at the Scout
Service Center (562-427-0911 ext 290). Besides summer camp, some of
the Council programs provided at Camp Tahquitz are Webelos parent-son
weekends, Freeze-O-Rees, Tri-Council Woodbadge Training and the annual
Tribe of Tahquitz Induction.
Aquatics Sea Base
On Naples Island, near
Marine Stadium at the foot of the Second Street bridge, the Sea Scout
Base sits in a beautiful corner of the marina, next to "Mother's
Beach" and near the Long Beach Yacht Club. It is just a few blocks
off Pacific Coast Hwy. The base includes indoor meeting rooms for a
variety of functions as well as access to outdoor aquatic facilities
for units with their own equipment and qualified leadership. The
base complex includes a marina dock, boat launch and private beach,
shared with the adjacent Girl Scout facility.

Reid Scout Park
For more than 50 years, the
11-acre Will J. Reid Scout Camp has been a close-to-home activity base
for thousands of Scouts and Scouters who have used the Training
Center, picnic area and overnight campsites. The campfire bowl is a
memorable spot for unit campfire programs. The camp facilities include
a dining hall and a full kitchen which are frequently used for Blue &
Gold Banquets and Eagle Scout Courts of Honor.
Picnic Areas include tables, cookout grills and shaded
grassy areas for groups of 100 or more. There is also an open meadow
area for games and assemblies. The pool has a capacity of about
80, is handicapped-accessible and includes heated showers. Units must
provide qualified lifeguards or make arrangements for camp-provided
staff.
The Campfire Bowl is an amphitheater-style
facility comfortably seats more than 100 people, with fire rings on
both sides of the stage area. Great for daytime gatherings or evening
ceremonies. Units should bring their own fire wood.

Los Padres Council Camp
Rancho Alegre

Rancho Alegre is located in the wooded oak foothills
of the Santa Ynez Mountain Range of the Los Padres National Forest,
approximately 20 miles north of Santa Barbara. The camp is at 2,000
feet elevation and covers 225 acres with areas having an inspiring
view across the valley and Lake Cachuma. Day temperatures range from
60-95 degrees with cool evenings and crisp nights. From any
direction, take State Highway 154 (San Marcos Pass Road); the entrance
to the camp is one-half mile east of the entrance to Lake Cachuma
Park.
